Memorial Habitat Program
Boone County Conservation District has implemented a new Memorial Habitat Program. This program allows groups or individuals to contribute memorial funds toward the restoration of native habitat at BCCD Conservation Areas with a focus at the Spencer Conservation Area in Belvidere. Memorials can be established to create ¼ to 1-acre native plantings with up to 125 species of native plants. There have been several memorial plantings established.
Larger scale plantings can also be arranged for those willing to invest more funding.
One Quarter Acre Planting: $500 Memorial Donation
One Half-Acre Planting: $1000 Memorial Donation
One-Acre Planting: $2000 Memorial Donation
Letter of Intent to Donate
This letter of intent to donate is a formal declaration of one’s desire to submit a donation to an organization or business. Since the Parks and Conservation Foundation is essentially a pass-through 501c3 organization, the letter of intent provides direction for how the donor would like the funds to be used and whether the funds should ultimately be given to the Belvidere Park District or to the Boone County Conservation District.
